A draft that reached the sitemap is worse than a missing page: search engines index the unfinished version, and the finished one later competes with its own placeholder. The mark is doing its job — it is the pipeline around it that ignored it. indexgap treats the draft flag as authoritative in both directions: a page carrying it is kept out of the sitemap and out of IndexNow, and is reported here so that the flag does not quietly hold a finished page back either.
The finding reads:
critical still-draft status: … — the page is marked unfinished
Finish the page and remove `status: draft` from the front matter. While the mark is there, the page goes into neither the sitemap nor IndexNow.
Reported per page even when it is common. Appearing on many pages is the nature of this finding rather than evidence of one template defect, so collapsing it would hide real work.
